The Coming Social Media Revolution

Although many people think we have had the social technology revolution and have moved on to the AI revolution, I believe the social technology market is only just beginning, and the AI revolution is much deeper into the future than the language models being presented today. These models are great resources in the right situation and act as an intelligence agent, but they’re also just machine learning-generated unintelligent systems. I would argue that they aren’t “AI” in the theoretical sense, but they still can be destructive when deployed for malicious purposes.

What do we have to fear with machine learning systems? Easy: oppressive systems that enforce unjust laws and compliance in a cold and calculated manner. Really, what they’re capable of and are currently doing may well be illegal under the 14th Amendment. This will be litigated soon and we will see.

AI will need a true general intelligence algorithm, and that’s not around just yet. Maybe in 5 years we could have one, and that will require some preparation.
